In a recent survey it was stated that the following people regarded their own specific organisation as being that of "God's People" namely,

the Church of Jesus Christ and Latter Day Saints - Mormons - Seventh day Adventists - Jehovah's Witnesses - Catholics - Christian outreach, and Jews for Jesus groups who regard their followers as being the "Spiritual Israel" that will replace the Jews in the Judgement day - There is only one yardstick to measure who are "God's People" and that is scripture.

If one is to undertake a comparative study of the doctrines held by the above orgtanisations, it would become evident that there is a wide gap in the tenets: "So who are God's People?" - "Who are the right group of people to join?" To answer this one must determine which text or Scripture should be used as a benchmark and, if one is to accept that worship of the living God, the Creator God is the correct course to follow, then we need to examine the Bible in depth.

However, in fairness to each different above-mentioned organisations, it is necessary to use only text that can be confirmed as original Biblical text , because the diverse doctrtines all derived their religious beliefs from this source.

Then it appears that only The Old Testament section, called the "Tenach" by the Jewish People, has any real authenticity because it is the only part of the Bible that scans the time frame covering all of the above religions over the last four thousand years.

Additionally today, many authentic scrolls from the Qumran Caves, The Dead Sea Scrolls, are preserved in Israel and these confirm the validity of the original text.

The New Testament with the worship of Jesus is the section that has its origin through the Christian Gateway, and it was not disseminated to the lay populace until the 15th century, less than four hundred years ago. Up until this time, the Church of Rome had total control of the religious teachings from this source, and the lay populace were not permitted to have a copy of the Scripture for personal study. They needed to rely on religious instruction from the priesthood. History books confirm that the Church of Rome fiercely guarded control of this Scriptural teaching, and kept the people in total darkness by conducting their "Mass" church services in Latin throughout the world.

Protestant Christian organisations did not come into existence until the 18th century.

A relatively short time ago as shown on the graph below. Apart from Islam which commenced in the 6th century, Judaism is the only original religion based on the Tenach and the Torah, which is the first five books of The Old Testament.

If you lived 2- to 4000 years ago, you would need to be a Jew to adhere to God's laws (Mitzvot). see the Chart below.
